Project Lifesaver helps families to protect members who may wander. These individuals can be equipped with a one-ounce wrist-transmitter that sends a radio signal that can be tracked up to a 2 kilometre radius.

The system operates 24/7, 365 days a year.

When notified by caregivers that an individual is missing, specially trained police officers use the mobile tracking equipment to find them.

Application Process:

  1. Applicants are screened to confirm they meet Project Lifesaver criteria
  2. Applicants complete Participant Application Form
  3. Upon acceptance into the program applicants sign an Participation Agreement.
  4. Caregivers are provided an orientation to the program and equipment.

Participants

  • Must live in Perth County (Huron County residents can reach out to Huron Community Paramedicine by clicking here)
  • Those who move out of Perth County must withdraw from the program
  • Must have a history of wandering and have been diagnosed by a physician or referred by a caretaking facility.
