Project Lifesaver helps families to protect members who may wander. These individuals can be equipped with a one-ounce wrist-transmitter that sends a radio signal that can be tracked up to a 2 kilometre radius.
The system operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
When notified by caregivers that an individual is missing, specially trained police officers use the mobile tracking equipment to find them.
Application Process:
- Applicants are screened to confirm they meet Project Lifesaver criteria
- Applicants complete Participant Application Form
- Upon acceptance into the program applicants sign an Participation Agreement.
- Caregivers are provided an orientation to the program and equipment.
Participants
- Must live in Perth County (Huron County residents can reach out to Huron Community Paramedicine by clicking here)
- Those who move out of Perth County must withdraw from the program
- Must have a history of wandering and have been diagnosed by a physician or referred by a caretaking facility.
