The Huron branch of Victim Services was started in April of 2004. We currently provide support to all of the County which is 3,400 Km2 with a population of 59, 297 people. We also ensure the neighbouring communities are connected to their local Victim Services if they are deemed out of our area. All calls are supported and referrals that best fit the need of the client is made.
We provide non-judgmental and confidential emotional support and practical assistance to survivors of crime or tragic circumstances. Supports are offered 24/7, 365 days/year
We are a trained volunteer based organization that works in partnership with first responders to provide crisis intervention to people in need. Our volunteers come with a diverse background of experiences and are highly trained to ensure the high quality of services offered. Our volunteers and staff are compassionate and empathetic individuals that devote their time to making someone’s time of trauma more manageable.

Deborah Logue was born and raised in Blyth Ontario. She moved to Ottawa in 1993 to pursue her education at Algonquin College in which she graduated from the Child and Youth Worker program in 1996.Deborah went on to complete 18+ years in Ottawa working directly with youth and their families in many diverse settings including Childrens Aid Society Relief Foster Parent; Young Womens Shelter; Youth Justice in both Open and Secure Custody; Multi Systemic Therapy; Residential Crisis as well as an Intensive Family Support worker. Most recent work location prior to Victim Services Huron Perth was at Lutherwood Youth Mental Health Residential Program in Waterloo.
Karen Redmond was born and raised in Benmiller and is a proud resident of Huron County.
Dawson Currie was born and raised in Wingham Ontario. In 2016, he moved to Waterloo to pursue a degree in Political Science and Criminology at Wilfrid Laurier University, graduating in 2020. Before returning home, Dawson worked for two and a half years in the Youth Justice System in Kitchener with a variety of individuals from all walks of life. Dawson joined Victim Services Huron Perth County in December of 2020 as a Volunteer Crisis Responder and then joined the organization in a full time roll in August of 2021 as the Lead Crisis Responder – Community Engagement and couldn’t be more thrilled to be back home. Dawson is currently a Certified Threat Assessment Professional and brings a background directly related to crisis management, mental health, and trauma informed care combined with a desire to see the people of Huron County thrive.
