The Huron branch of Victim Services was established in April 2004 and has offered support, practical assistance, and referrals to those in need for over 20 years. In May 2024, Perth Victim Services joined Huron, and we are now known as Victim Services Huron Perth. Our priority is to ensure that all calls receive support and that referrals are made to best meet the client’s needs.

We provide non-judgmental and confidential emotional support and practical assistance to survivors of crime or tragic circumstances. Supports are offered 24/7, 365 days/year

We are a trained volunteer-based organization that partners with first responders to provide crisis intervention to people in need. Our volunteers have diverse backgrounds and are highly trained to ensure the high quality of services offered. Our volunteers and staff are compassionate and empathetic individuals who devote their time to making someone’s time of trauma more manageable.

Deborah Logue – Executive Director

Deborah Logue was born and raised in Blyth, Ontario. She moved to Ottawa in 1993 to pursue her education at Algonquin College, where she graduated with honours from the Child and Youth Worker program in 1996. Deborah went on to complete 18+ years in Ottawa working directly with youth and their families in many diverse settings, including Children’s Aid Society Relief Foster Parent, Young Women’s Shelter, Youth Justice in both Open and Secure Custody, Multi-Systemic Therapy, Residential Crisis, and an Intensive Family Support worker.

In 2014, Deborah returned to Huron County to be closer to her family and once again embrace all the benefits of rural living. She currently resides in Huron East.
Deborah started her position as Executive Director with Victim Services Huron Perth on May 30, 2016.

Jenn Evans - Operations Manager

Jenn began volunteering with Victim Services Huron County (VSHC) in 2005. Shortly after being trained, she was contracted with VSHC as a Court Watch Observer, where she meticulously observed and documented court proceedings involving Intimate Partner Violence in the Huron County Criminal Court. Over the years, Jenn returned to the organization in various capacities, including Human Trafficking Case Manager, Lead Crisis Responder, and Community Engagement Specialist, before stepping into her current role as Operations Manager.

Jenn’s career is deeply rooted in social services. She has worked in homeless and women’s shelters, mental health and addiction services, and collaborated extensively with the Ontario Provincial Police on various grant projects. Her expertise extends to grant writing, project management, and fostering community partnerships.

Her entrepreneurial background includes owning and operating a successful business, which showcases her business insight and versatility. Jenn is also a dedicated community volunteer, currently serving as treasurer with the Goderich Kinette Club.

Jenn’s guiding principles—collaboration, continuous learning, and advocacy—have consistently informed her work, enabling her to make a meaningful impact in her community and beyond.

Karen Redmond – Client Care Coordinator

Karen Redmond was born and raised in Benmiller and is a proud resident of Huron County.

Karen is an RPN, with 40+ years of experience, with previous employers that included AMGH with early nursing career in OR and ER, moving to Mental Health – Inpatient Mental Health – Schedule 1, Huron Community Mental Health Services, and Huron Outreach Eating Disorders Program. While employed with HPHA Karen worked in the Huron Perth Crisis Program, Huron Perth ACTT, and Huron Perth CTO Co Ordinator, as well as an NVCI trainer.

Karen has been a long-standing volunteer in the community, with most recent commitment as Chair of Landscaping IPM 2017, Auburn Horticultural Society Executive, District 8 Director – Ontario Horticultural Association, and is a member of Huron Perth Discovered Gardens.

Karen started her position as Co Ordinator of Services with Victim Services Huron Perth on Nov 8, 2021.

Jen Jablecki - Client Support Specialist

Jen grew up in Stratford, where she has spent most of her life. In 2018, after extensive research into organizations she felt passionate about supporting, she began volunteering with Victim Services. Jen chose Victim Services because of its commitment to helping a wide range of clients in need.

Through her volunteer work, Jen invested in training and courses that deepened her passion for the organization and enhanced her skills and knowledge. In 2021, she transitioned into a part-time role as a Shift Coordinator on the crisis line, where she provided critical support to individuals in crisis.

In 2024, after 16 years in retail and management, Jen changed careers and accepted a full-time position with Victim Services as a Client Support Specialist. In this role, she is honoured to work with incredibly resilient individuals who have experienced crime or tragedy. Jen’s focus is to guide clients in accessing community supports, and collaborating with local partners to ensure everyone is connected to the resources they need to heal, grow, and rebuild their lives.

Outside of work, Jen is a proud mom to her 17-year-old and enjoys travelling, gardening, time by the lake, sunsets, thunderstorms, sports, and quality moments with family and friends.

Brandon Koetsier - Client Support Specialist

Born and raised in Holmesville, Ontario, Brandon Koetsier developed a strong sense of community and a deep interest in helping others from a young age. This foundation led him to pursue a career focused on public safety and support services. After high school, Brandon furthered his education at Georgian College in Orillia, Ontario, where he enrolled in the Police Foundations program.

Seeking to expand his expertise, Brandon continued his studies at Georgian College, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a focus on Police Studies. This advanced education helped refine his knowledge of human behaviour, crisis intervention, and the social factors influencing law enforcement and community relations.

In addition to his academic achievements, Brandon has dedicated the past five years to volunteering with Victim Services Huron County (Huron-Perth), where he currently serves as a Staff Client Support Specialist. In this role, he provides critical support to victims of crime and trauma, offering emotional support, practical resources, and community referrals. His work has helped countless individuals during some of the most difficult times in their lives, cementing his commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

Through both his education and hands-on volunteer work, Brandon has developed a well-rounded skill set that bridges law enforcement, social services, and community support. He is driven by a desire to help others and make a meaningful difference in his community, always keeping his roots in Huron County as a source of inspiration.
